[su_dropcap style=”flat” size=”5″]T[/su_dropcap]he Speaker of the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr Tulia Ackson, and the Deputy Minister of State at the President’s Office, Hon. Ridhiwani Kikwete have visited the victims of the road accident that occurred yesterday, 29 March 2024. Tulia AcksonThe accident involved a Coastal passenger car that was carrying Simba team fans who were travelling from Mbeya to Dar Es Salaam to watch the match before they collided with a lorry that was entering the road from Vigwaza areas to measure the weight on the scales.

Tulia AcksonBefore welcoming the Speaker, Comrade Kikwete, the Member of Parliament for Chalinze, expressed his condolences to the Simba leadership and the bereaved families and prayed to God for their safe return to Mbeya. In relation to the Kiungwana incident, the Member of Parliament decided to pay for the treatment of all those who were treated at the local hospital, a total of Sh3.8 million.

Tulia AcksonAfter thanking the MP for paying the costs, Speaker of Parliament Dr Tulia thanked President Samia Suluhu Hassan for the huge investment that has already been made in the hospital and that what is being seen are the results of that investment. He also thanked all those who had volunteered to help the Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa, Chalinze Council Director and party leaders on behalf of all.

Tulia AcksonTwenty-seven people were injured in the caravan, all of whom have been discharged except for two who will remain under observation and two who died as a result of their injuries.
