The University of Dar es Salaam will celebrate its ninth annual Research and Innovation Week for the year 2024 in April and June at the unit and university levels respectively, focusing on research and innovation through university-industry partnerships. Speaking at a press conference recently, UDSM Acting Vice Chancellor-Research, Prof Nelson Boniface, said the celebrations would be held at two levels, namely at unit level (colleges, schools and institutes) from 17 to 19 April and at university level from 5 to 7 June.

The Secretary General of the Revolutionary Party (CCM), Ambassador Dr Emmanuel John Nchimbi, is pleased with the training of women political leaders in the country coordinated by the Tanzania Women's Union (UWT). "It is clear that this training will increase your capacity in your political activities which will strengthen our CCM party and our nation as a whole," Dr Field said. "Let me congratulate the Chairperson of UWT Taifa Our Mother Comrade Mary Pius Chatanda for the great work she is doing in coordinating this training and other activities that will strengthen the UWT community and our CCM party". Dr Nchimbi said this on the 9th of April 2024 during the training for women political leaders held at the NEC Dodoma Hall.
