The wife of the President of Zanzibar and the Chairman of the Revolutionary Council Mama Mariam Mwinyi participated in a walk marathon in celebration of World Law Day.
At the peak of the walk, Mama Mariam Mwinyi said the Government of Zanzibar has taken various measures with the aim of stopping humiliating acts such as enacting laws with severe penalties without bail to eliminate such acts.
She praised the Courts for its efforts, that it takes to deal with cases of humiliation, among those efforts is the creation of a special Court to deal with crimes of humiliation. In 2022, the Court had a total of 1,260 humiliation cases and in those 867 cases which is equal to 68.9%
In the celebration, Mama Mariam was accompanied by various leaders including the wife of the First Vice President of Zanzibar, Mama Zainab Kombo Shaib, the Chief Justice of Zanzibar Hon. Khamis Ramadhan Abdalla, Chief Justice of Tanzania Hon. Ibrahim Thursday Friday
