The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, has already approved the release of Sh30 billion emergency funds for TARURA roads, according to the Deputy Minister in the President’s Office, Hon Deo Ndejembi.
Hon. Ndejembi made the statement in Masasi District in Mtwara Region and Ruangwa District in Lindi Region where he was accompanied by the Minister of Works, Hon. Innocent Bashungwa, to inspect the infrastructure that has been affected by the ongoing rains in the country.
During the visit, Hon. Ndejembi instructed the Regional Managers of TARURA across the country to assess the damage to the infrastructure that has occurred in their areas and to quickly commence the maintenance of the infrastructure to remove the hardship that the citizens are facing.
“Let me apologise to the people of these areas where these rains have brought the challenge of damaged infrastructure, but let me reassure them that all roads in TARURA have already been approved by the Honourable President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan to receive Shs 30 billion for emergency repairs across the country.
I therefore want all regional leaders to assess the damage in their areas and take immediate steps to address these challenges so that our citizens can continue their activities as usual,” said Ndejembi.
