Tabora Education Infrastructure Development: Progress and Commendations


On 9 January 2025, the Honourable Dr Dorothy Gwajima, Minister for Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, commended the Tabora Regional Government for their commendable efforts in implementing various education infrastructure construction projects in the Kaliua district. New Langoni Primary School

Dr. Gwajima’s visit encompassed an inspection of the site and the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of the New Langoni Primary School. The project, valued at 361.5 million Shillings, is part of the BOOST Program and involves the construction of nine classrooms and ten toilet facilities. The overarching objective of this initiative is to create a conducive learning environment for students in the region.

Mkindo Secondary School

In addition to the primary school project, Dr. Gwajima laid the foundation stone for the construction of four girls’ dormitories and ten toilet facilities at Mkindo Secondary School. The project, with an estimated budget of 136 million Shillings, is designed to enhance the living conditions and educational opportunities for female students.

Dr. Gwajima lauded the Tabora Regional Government for their effective management of education infrastructure construction projects. She emphasised the substantial progress achieved and expressed her satisfaction with the appropriate utilisation of the 186.56 billion Shillings allocated by the Government for these projects. During her address to the people of Ulyankulu, Dr. Gwajima encouraged small business owners to seize economic opportunities by registering and obtaining digital IDs. These IDs, when obtained, will enable the owners to benefit from loans through NMB Bank, thus fostering economic growth and development in the region.
