Tanzania: IGP Wambura Strengthens Security Measures in Katavi Region


On 7 October 2024, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Camillus Wambura, Chief of Police of Tanzania, undertook a working visit to the Katavi region. This visit was part of an ongoing programme of measures designed to enhance security and ensure effective law enforcement across the country.

Meeting with Regional Chief of Katavi

During his visit, IGP Wambura held a meeting with the Regional Chief of Katavi, Hon. Mwanamvua Mrindoko. The meeting’s focus was on:

  • Security Assessment: Discussing the current security situation in the Katavi region, identifying challenges, and exploring solutions to improve safety and security for residents.
  • Collaboration: Strengthening the collaboration between the police force and regional authorities to ensure coordinated efforts in maintaining law and order.
