[su_dropcap style=”flat” size=”5″]T[/su_dropcap]he President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi said the challenges facing young people include unemployment, drug use, pregnancy and early marriage, AIDS, mental health, violence and sexual abuse and including misuse of Information and Communication Technology.
President Dr. Mwinyi said this when he launched the Young Captain project worth 10.6 million US dollars which has been sponsored by the United States Aid Agency (USAID).
This project aims to empower and give skills to young people in various sectors including agricultural entrepreneurship, animal husbandry, tourism, blue economy, life skills and health for young people. Similarly, this project aims to reach 15,000 young people between the ages of 15 and 25 in Unguja, Dr. Mwinyi said that this youth project is one of the examples of the existence of sincere cooperation between the United States of America and the United Republic of Tanzania.
