On 10 September 2024, Tanzania’s Minister of Health, Hon. Jenista Mhagama, undertook a visit to Muhimbili National Hospital (Mloganzila) in the Dar Es Salaam region. The visit formed part of a three-day tour, the objective of which was to assess the quality of healthcare services and interact with hospital staff.
Engagement with Patients and Staff
During her visit, Minister Mhagama engaged with parents of low birth weight babies (njiti) and other patients, underscoring the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare services. Her engagement with both patients and healthcare professionals highlighted the necessity of providing high-quality medical care and addressing the specific needs of vulnerable groups.

The Minister’s tour serves to illustrate the ongoing endeavours to augment the healthcare infrastructure and service delivery in Tanzania, thereby guaranteeing that hospitals such as Muhimbili National Hospital (Mloganzila) remain equipped to provide indispensable care to the community.
